Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has donated some food items to the less privileged and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Gombe State, northeast Nigeria.
The donation was made on Sunday by the former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, Mr Inuwa Yahaya, who represented Mrs Buhari.
Mr Yahaya commended the initiative of the First Lady and advised other individuals and corporate organisations to support the IDPs.
He explained that the items would also be extended to those participating in the Ramadan fast.
The former governorship candidate also advised beneficiaries to continue to remain law abiding citizens and support Gombe State and the federal authorities in the fight against terror.
Mrs Buhari’s benevolent act was part of her pet project, the Future Assured Initiative, where she reached out to some less privileged persons in Kogi and Kaduna states.
She said the gesture, which benefited the physically challenged, widows and displaced persons amongst others, was aimed at cushioning the present hardship experienced by the downtrodden.
