Nigeria midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo’s club, Stoke City, missed his services after they fell 2-1 at the Bet365 stadium to Queen Park Rangers in their opening match of the 2019/20 league season.
Etebo is yet to resume to his club after featuring at the last AFCON in the colours of Nigeria and was most recently a guest at entertainment reality show Big Brother Naija alongside Eagles team-mate John Ogu.
The midfielder was one of Stoke City’s brightest players last season despite failing to achieve the dream of returning to the Premier League.
Stoke City’s hope of a bright start was dimmed when Jordan Hugill opened the scoring for the visitors in the 8th minute before EberechiEze’s 53rd minute goal extended their advantage before Samuel Clacus scored a consolatory goal for the home side in the 78th minute.
The Nigerian is set to return to the club soon after his extended break.
