Former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Dr. Florence Ita-Giwa (OON), has called on Nigerian youths to emulate former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo, who retired recently with a testimonial game in Port Harcourt.
In a statement signed in Lagos, Ita-Giwa also congratulated Yobo on his appointment by the Rivers State Government as Senior Special Assistant on Youth and Sports Development.
According to her, Yobo served the nation meritoriously and was dedicated especially while on national duty.
“I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating a patriot and a dynamic youth and sportsman, Joseph Yobo, as he retired from football as well as his appointment as an adviser to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
She stated, “I’m proud of his achievements and I’m proud to be identified with him. He is a good man that carved a niche for himself in football. I want to use this medium to call on the nation’s youths to emulate him and be dedicated in their chosen professions. The well-attended testimonial game in Port Harcourt is a pointer to the fact that the football community appreciates his profound contributions to the game.”
