General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has replied his critics on one of his controversial sermon at the Church’s yearly convention
The preacher who has been a subject of debate on the media for weeks after he bluntly told single men not to marry women who cannot cook or pray for one hour. The cleric also warned single ladies not to marry jobless men.
“Marry a prayer warrior! Don’t marry any girl who cannot pray for one hour non-stop. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy! If she is lazy when she is single, what will happen if she is married?”
In another video, he warned, “Don’t marry a man who has no job. Before God gave Adam Eve, he gave him a job. He said, ‘This is the garden, keep it.’ So when anybody comes to you and say, ‘Sister, thus saith the Lord, you are going to be the star in my firmament,’ ask him — ‘What is your job?’
These messages led to an onslaught of disapproving responses by people especially celebrities who disagreed with the renowned Pastor’s notions.
Reacting to the controversy generated by the message via a Facebook post on Tuesday, Daddy G.O, as the pastor is fondly called, said his messages were not for everybody.
He wrote: “My messages are not for everybody. So, I plead with you, ask God to speak to you specifically.”
