Lagos has been hit by a sever thunderstorm in the early hours of Monday leading to widespread disruption to electricity supply, traffic and business activities in some parts.
The rainstorm accompanied by thunderstorm with hailstones started at about 6.41am knocked and down many trees and electricity power towers to obstruct roads.
Two houses were swept away in Obalende while dozens houses with roof partially blown off in parts in other areas. Traffic gridlock built up on the Island, Ikoyi and parts of Mainland leading to hundreds of commuters being trapped and arriving late at work today.
