Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam has asked people of the state to imbibe lessons on sacrifice, perseverance and self denial which brought about spiritual development and peaceful coexistence.
In an Eid-l-fitr message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika, Speaker Salaam who felicitated with leaders and faithful of Islam stressed that teachings of Quran on harmonious relationship among all men and women should be upheld, while vices should be avoided.
Speaker Salaam then urged religious tolerance among all people of faith, noting that religions should be an instrument of positive reformation not divisive device, saying people should see humanity first in their faith before any other secondary sentiment.
He said: “our people should understand that the purpose of creation is known to the Creator, and humanity that binds all men and women together should be protected and respected by tolerating one another on religious choices.”
